On August 16th at 5 PM the Energy and Technology Museum invites you to the presentation of the project dedicated to the year of Francysk Skaryna:
- At 5 PM there will be a lecture by Sviatlana Petushkova, a graphic artist and the expert on old printing, “Printed Graphics from Origins to Today” (in Russian);
- At 6 PM masterclass and meeting with Sviatlana Petushkova and Andrej Shaporov will take place (with translation into Lithuanian).
Belarusian graphic artists, who moved to Vilnius in 2020 due to political persecution, restored the printing press used by Skaryna and created an educational workshop at the Energy and Technology Museum. The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania has declared 2022 the year of Skaryna, a humanist, pioneer of book printing in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, publisher and fosterer of intercultural dialogue.
Petushkova, graphic artist, curator and printer, graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. She is a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists since 2019 and member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2022.
Shaporov, artist, designer and maker, received a master’s degree in visual arts from the Belarusian State University and worked as a curator at the National Center for Contemporary Arts in Minsk. He’s a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers since 2010 and a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2022.
