Energy and Technology opens the museum roof terrace for visitors. It includes an interactive stand of Gediminas Hill, where visitors can record a voice greeting to Vilnius on the occasion of the 700th anniversary, and a thematic guided tour “History of Vilnius Modernization”.
On Saturday, October 8th, at 5 PM we invite you to the opening event:
- The stand of Gediminas Hill will be presented by the head of the museum Mykolas Bistrickas and the author of the project Andžej Kuldoš;
- Guide Karolina Koroliova-Barkova will lead the guided tour “History of Vilnius Modernization”. Hot tea will be served on the terrace.
Looking at Gediminas Hill from the stand, you can see what the Upper Castle that once stood there looked like. The audio guide tells the history of the Lower and Upper castles from the first knowledge about them to the present day. In January, a greeting will be created from the voice recordings collected, commemorating the 700th anniversary of Vilnius.
During the guided tour, we take a look at Old Town, New Town, Šnipiškės and Žirmūnai districts, which open from here, the history of the city’s creation, the most significant inventions that changed the lives of Vilnius residents, and the history of the appearance and construction of technically advanced city objects – the Vilnius Concert and Sports Palace, Vilnius TV Tower, three Neris bridges and others.
