On 10 June, come ring in the summer season at the Vilnius Pink Soup Fest – the first šaltibarščiai festival ever. The Lithuanian capital of Vilnius will be painted pink! And in Energy and Technology Museum you will learn about the science of pink color.
The color pink doesn’t really exist – it’s a physically explainable mixture of red and violet light waves. During the experiments, we will find out how the pink color is formed, how to extract it, and why mixing the ingredients of Pink Soup gives not only soup, but also this particular color.
Participants will see pink fire, elephant toothpaste, (Non)Newtonian fluid and other interesting experiments related to material science and the color pink.
Look at Pink Soup like scientists and learn more about šaltibarščiai’ color!
