On the Last Sunday of the Month Visit the Museum for Free

On the last Sunday of every month, Energy and Technology Museum invites you to visit for free. Join the world of science at the largest technology museum in Lithuania, with inspiring guided tours, education, workshops and many other activities!

TWO EXHIBITIONS

“Raibuliai” exhibition. As Simona Bakanauskaitė observes, when the energy of water is concentrated, a whirlpool forms, a dike collapses and a shore appears, but these dramas are rarely reflected in photographs. The stories of these natural cycles are even more rarely witnessed by city dwellers, which is why the author’s aim was to capture and reflect these natural cycles.

“Two Feelings“ exhibition made by Ilustrator-designer Gvidas Misiūnas . The illustrator/designer says that the idea for the exhibition was born at the beginning of the global pandemic, when many people were experiencing quite complex and ambiguous feelings. The conceptual themes in the exhibition touch on areas such as: loneliness, relationships, various fears, social networks and their place in everyone’s life. The aim of this exhibition is to invite the visitor to look at the dual feelings together.

TRANSFORMATION HALL

Transformation Hall is an interactive exhibition about the human relationship with energy, designed to inspire interest in science and technology, and to present the exact sciences in an accessible and engaging way. Each exhibit consists of a historical narrative and an interactive challenge. As every weekend, there will be guided tours and a Tesla show at a cost of 3.50 Eur/person.

NATO EXHIBITION

Interactive exhibition “November. Alpha. Tango. Oscar.” is open until the end of 2024. The exhibition consists of four interactive simulators – a parachute simulator, a drone suppression simulator, a communication assurance simulator and a firing simulator – and dozens of vintage and modern military industry exhibits.

“November. Alpha. Tango. Oscar.”

“ARCHIMEDES AND HIS TIME“

ETM presents interactive exhibition from Athens, Archimedes and His Time. The exhibition is a selection from the exhibits of the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology Kostas Kotsanas that operates in Athens, Heraklion (Crete), Ancient Olympia and Katakolon port.
The museum revives approximately 350 extraordinary ancient Greek inventions, presenting their functional models, from robots, first cinema, analog computer, vending machine that poured customers holy water after church working hours, to military engineering, measuring distances between celestial bodies, cryptographic techniques, scientific illusions, sports, games and many others.
This exhibition aims to demonstrate that the technology of the ancient Greeks, just before the end of the ancient world, was shockingly similar to the beginning of our modern-day technology.

VILNIUS INDUSTRIAL EXPOSITION

The Industrial Exposition invites you to explore the industry of Vilnius from the very foundation of the city to the present day. You will learn about the technologies developed in Vilnius and the things produced here, which nowadays seem like a distant past and sometimes make people nostalgic. The exhibition shows how global industrialisation has changed the face of Vilnius and the everyday life of people. In this part of the museum, you can also visit a typical house from the 1970s.

INTERACTIVE EXHIBITION “TECHNICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR CHILDREN”

Young visitors of the Museum are invited to visit the interactive exposition “Technical Science and Technology for Children” at the Energy and Technology Museum. It is located on the two upper floors of the Museum. The aim of the exhibition is to present natural science in a simple, attractive and accessible way.
